James O’Callaghan has spent over ten years in the financial services industry including the last three years with Emil Capital Partners (“ECP”), a growth-stage private equity company focused on minority investments in the retail, consumer and media sectors. During his time at ECP, James was involved with several new transactions including investments in The Data Council (successful exit) and Vintage Italia (active), as well as general portfolio management responsibilities across the ECP portfolio.
In addition to his role at Emil Capital Partners, Mr. O’Callaghan served as the Chief Financial Officer at portfolio company Cheribundi, a high-growth health & wellness beverage manufacturer and brand. During his time as CFO, James was responsible for financial functions, corporate development, and ecommerce initiatives.
Mr. O’Callaghan previously worked at the Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (“JEGI”), the leading independent investment bank for the global media, marketing, technology and information services sectors. During his time at JEGI, James was involved in over fifteen M&A transactions representing nearly $1 billion in enterprise value. James started his career as a member of the Financial Management Program at GE Capital, where he held various roles across GE Capital business units including Franchise Finance, Retail Consumer Finance, and Treasury.
Mr. O’Callaghan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a Finance major and History minor from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Mr. O’Callaghan lives in Greenwich, CT and is married. Interests include the outdoors, golf, and running.
